De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek is proud to announce that it will be an "Official Supplier" of the Invictus Games The Hague 2020, presented by Jaguar Land Rover. As an Official Supporter, De Brauw is responsible for providing legal support of this international multi-sport event for the wounded, injured or sick men and women who serve, or served, in the armed forces.
Menno Stoffer, partner at De Brauw, was involved from day one of this edition of the Invictus Games: "The drive of the organising team behind the Invictus Games The Hague 2020 is contagious: the organisation, the competitors and their situation creates an incredibly special event. We see the impact it has on competitors and their environment, but we also see how the event affects society. We are grateful that we can be part of it."
Machteld de Monchy, head of De Brauw's Pro Bono practice, adds: "The international, public and specialist nature of this event makes legal support a fun and complex challenge. We are honoured that we can contribute in this way to the Invictus Games The Hague 2020 to make it a success. "
The Invictus Games use the power of sport to stimulate recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a broader understanding and respect for those who serve or served their country. The Games are also intended to value friends and family of the wounded, injured or sick Servicemen and women. These Invictus Games in 2020 come at a particularly symbolic moment, namely when the world marks the 75-year anniversary of VE Day, including the freedom of the Netherlands after the end of the Second World War.
"We are very grateful for the contribution that De Brauw offers us in organising the Invictus Games in The Hague. The legal aspects of the organization, the agreements and the logistics always require customisation. We rely on the De Brauw team to work together to lay a solid legal basis with us. The atmosphere in the team is also excellent and that gives energy, "says Mart de Kruif, Chairman of the Invictus Games The Hague 2020."
